WM1243 - US Navy Awards Plaque the Senior Honor Civilian of the Year, Mahogany with Engraved Brass Tags and Photo
This US Navy awards plaque was made for the Senior Honor Civilian of the Year, and is made from made from African Mahogany. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained one or more times to get the specified color, which can range from light to very dark, depending upon which of the 24 Minwax color stains is used. The plaque is then clear-coated twice with Matthews clear polyurethane acrylic. Brass plates are engraved with the names of winners from previous years. A clear acrylic cover allows a photo of the curent award winner to be easily inserted.
