WP5040 - Sulfur City Court Seal, 2.5-D Stained Redwood with Aluminum Cladding
This plaque for the Seal of the Sulfur City Court is carved in 2.5-D flat-relief. It is precisely carved from Redwood. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained one or more times to get the specified color, which can range from light to very dark, depending upon which of the 24 Minwax color stains is used, or its natural wood color (no stain), as for this plaque. The aluminum art, borders and text are cut from a thin sheet of aluminum, and epoxied onto the wood. The plaque is then clear-coated twice with Matthews clear polyurethane acrylic .
