COMTAGRU ONE COMMODORES Plaque
This COMTAGRU ONE COMMODORES plaque for the US Navy is carved from Western Red Cedar. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get a very dark color. A photo of the current Commodore of this Group is inserted into the replaceable photo frame . It has a clear acrylic cover. The names of previous Commodores of this unit are engraved on brass plates which slide into the black holders shown in the photo, so new names can be added . The two Naval aviator badges are carved in 3-D bas-relief from High-Density-Urethane (HDU), painted metallic brass, and mounted on the plaque. The Tactical Control Air Group (TACGRU) crest is carved in 2.5-D and painted with an artist-brush using long-lasting sign enamels. . This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment. This plaque is also shown in the US Navy plaque photo gallery.
