Chain-of-Command Board for the US Coast Guard Cutter Edgar Culbertson
This Chain-of-Command Board for the US Coast Guard Cutter Edgar Culbertson is carved from African Mahogany wood. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get the required color. The officer and crew names are engraved on brass plates which slide into the brass holders shown in the photo, so they can easily be changed out. The six insignia and emblems are carved in 3-D bas-relief from High-Density-Urethane (HDU) and mounted on the plaque. The ships crest is carved in 2.5-D, with the center artwork digitally printed on a long-lasting giclee vinyl applique. This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment.
