Wood Tripod for Displaying Large Chain-of-Command or Award Board
This is a custom Mahogany wood tripod designed to display a large chain-of-command or award board in an free-standing open area, instead of being mounted on a wall. The command board is easily removed from the wall (likely mounted on the wall with Z-clips) and the bottom of the board is set on the tripod's narrow horizontal wooden shelf that supports it as it leans at an angle against the upper part of the tripod. The tripod has three wooden legs to provide good stability, with chains connecting the legs so they maintain alignment and the tripod does not collapse if someone runs into it. The command board is secured at its top to the top of the tripod so if some one knocks the command board off its shelf it does not fall to the floor and break.
It only takes a few minutes to remove the command board from a wall and place it in the tripod, and also to return it to the wall. After the command board is removed, the tripod can be collapsed into a narrow package for easy storage, similar to a camera tripod. Each custom tripod is designed to fit a specific command or award board, and is made out of the same wood or painted the same color to match its board. Boards wider than 36 inches up to 72 inches can be mounted on a tripod.
These tripods are useful for displaying command and award boards on gangways to ships, at events, on stages for ceremonies, or anywhere else where free-standing is required, making the command or award plaque portable.

These boards and plaques can be mounted on a wall or podium with several hardware options, including double-backed tape or a keyhole on a nail (small plaques up to 24 inches in diameter); Z-clips (medium size plaques up to 5 ft wide); or threaded studs inserted into a wall (large plaques up to 10 ft wide).
